Background:Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is serious harmhul to human health,it is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality wordwide and results in an economic and social burden. The disease mainly associated with lung tissue, However COPD is also a systemic disease with significant extrapulmonary adverse effects. The pathogenesis of COPD is complicated and has not yet fully understood, which is still need further study. Objective:To investigate the relationship between the serum IL-17 、 PA and the pathogenesis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Methods:The present study involved 32 patients with stable COPD,include 25 males and 7females;30 healthy persons from the hospital physical examination center, include 22 males and 8 females. The serum IL-17 levels was measured by ELISA method. The serum PA levels was measured by turbidimetric inhibition immuno assay. The percentage of forced expiratory volume in one second of predicted value(FEV1%)were measured by the spirometer. All the data were made statistic analysis with SPSS16.0 software.Results:1.Leve1 s of serum IL-17 was 58.68±13..26ng/L in stable COPD group and23.42±8.57ng/L in control group(p<0.05),which showed statistically significant difference. Also levels of serum PA examined was 158.03±28.82mg/L in the COPD group and 263.33±32.55mg/L in control group(p<0.05),which showed statistically significant group differeaces.2.The serum IL-17 levels and FEV1%pred in COPD group was negative correlation obviously(r=-0.540,p=0.001). Significant positive correlation between serum PA levels and FEV1%pred(r=0.412,p=0.019)。3.The serum IL-17 levels and PA in COPD group was significant negative correlation(r=-0.419,p=0.017).Conclusion:1.Leve1 s of serum IL-17 and PA in stable COPD group were higher than control group.2. The serum levels of IL-17 in COPD group was significant negative correlation with PA and FEV1%pred,PA and FEV1%pred showed positive correlation.3.The serum IL-17 and PA levels correlate with chronic inflammation in stable COPD,and also associated with lung function test.
