Objective:To study on the characteristics of retinopathy of prematurity, and to analyze the possible risk factors of ROP.Methods:ROP prospective screening survey was performed enrolling all preterm infants admitted to the NICU of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from September 1,2012 to February 1, 2015, with a gestational age less than 34 weeks or a birth weight less than 2000 g or received oxygen therapy or mechanical ventilation.Data was collected including birth weight, gestational age, gender,multiple-birth pregnancies, intrauterine distress, asphyxia, antenatal steroids to promote fetal lung maturity, PS replacement therapy, NRDS, apnea, oxygen therapy, the ways of oxygen, anemia, blood transfusion, acidosis, septicemia, pneumonia, neonatal hyperbilirubinemia, cholestasis, SGA, encephalopathy of preterm infants, hypoglycemia, pregnant way, the mode of delivery, hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, the weight of 7th, 14 th, 21 th, 28 thand relative weight gain each week. The data is analyzed by statistical software SPSS 17.0. Measurement data is analyzed by t-test.Count data is analyzed by χ2-test. Continuous variables is analyzed by nonparame- trictests. Correlation analysis of individual risk factors and ROP byχ2-test. Multivariate analysis is analyzed by Logistic regression analysis. P < 0.05 is statistical difference.Result:In the screening of 216 cases of preterm children, of ROP 32 patients, the incidence rate of 14.81%. There were 13 cases of stage I lesions(40.62%),10 cases of stage II lesions(31.25%),9 cases of stage III lesions(28.12%) and none of stage 4lesions or stage V lesions. Gestational age, birth weight, apnea, hypoglycemia and CPAP are independent risk factors of ROP.(P=0.039,OR=0.340,CI[0.122-0.945]),(P=0.014,OR=0.319,CI[0.128-0.794]),(P=0.031,OR=4.640,CI[1.148-18.754]),(P=0.016,OR=2.423,CI[1.175-5.011]),(P=0.019,OR=8.235,CI[1.406-48.223]).Conclusion:The risk factors that gestational age, birth weight, apnea, hypoglycemia and CPAP are ROP independent risk factors.Screening for premature infants who have low birth weight or gestational age. Early diagnosis and early treatment can reduce the incidence of ROP.
