| Objective:To explore the relationgship between ABO blood group and the prognostic of patients with glioma after surgery resection. To analysis the factors that affecting the survival time of glioma patients after surgery by ABO blood group, not only it can assess the prognosis of patients, but also develop a personalized treatment plan based on the patient’s condition, and effectively guide prognosis. Methods:The clinical data of 241 patients with glioma accepted surgical resection were collected in December 1999- March 2015 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University. 146 cases were male, female 95 cases, with an average age of 40 years old, tumor diameter 0.90 ~ 11.30 cm, the average 4.56 cm. The patient preoperative KPS were 30 to 90, the average 76 points. Low WHO tumor grade(WHOâ… ~â…¡) total of95 cases; High WHO grade(WHOâ…¢~â…¥) is 146 cases. 215 cases of brain tumor located in the cerebrum, 19 cases in cerebellum, 7 cases of brain stem. There were 56 cases of blood type A, 61 cases of B blood type, 20 cases of AB blood type, O blood group 104 cases. Postoperative patients receiving chemotherapy or radiotherapy 139 cases, patients who did not receive chemotherapy or radiotherapy 102 cases.Clinical factors of patients with glioma expressed in absolute count data using X2 test.Univariate patient OS(Overall Survival) data were analyzed using Kaplan-Meier method, and the difference was significant comparison with Log-rank method, multivariate analysis using the Cox proportional hazards model. SPSS13.0 statistical software, statistical analysis of data concurrently, P <0.05 as statistically significant with a difference.Results:Follow-up period were 1 to 77 months, with an average 18 months;and the follow-up time of 30 cases ≥36 months. When the end of last follow-up, 83 patients died. Univariate analysis, age(P = 0),WHO classification of tumors(P = 0), ABO blood group(P = 0.044), postoperative chemotherapy or radiotherapy acceptance(P= 0.001) and the scale of resection on the OS were statistically significant(P <0.05).Pairwise comparison indicated that the average survival time of A, B, AB and O blood group with glioma patients were divided into 44.8,45.1,37.7 and 32 months respectively, and O blood group and A blood group and B blood group glioma patient survival time compared, the difference was statistically significant, P was 0.047 and0.043 respectvively. The difference of survival time between O blood group and AB blood group of patients was not statistically significant, P = 0.077. Compare the survival time of blood group A, B and AB patients wirh glioma, the difference was not statistically significant(P> 0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that age, ABO blood group, WHO classification of tumors, whether to accept the influence of postoperative chemotherapy or radiotherapy and scale of resection on OS were statistically significant(P <0.05).Conclusions:1. Compared with A blood and B blood group patients with glioma, the survival time of patients with O blood group was shorter, the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05). Compared with O blood and AB blood group patients with glioma, the difference was not statistically significant(P = 0.077). Compare the survival time of blood group A, B and AB patients wirh glioma, the difference was not statistically significant(P> 0.05).2. ABO blood type, patient age, WHO classification of tumors, postoperative chemotherapy or radiotherapy acceptance and the scale of resection is an independent prognostic factor for patients with glioma after surgery(P <0.05).ABO blood group have an impact on the prognosis of patients with glioma after surgery resection.O blood group, older, higher WHO classification of tumours, postoperative patients who did not receive radiotherapy or chemotherapy and smaller resection of tumor, the survival time is shorter. |
