To compare the function of the valves after three diferent procedures, including percutaneous transcatheter closure,open-heart surgery and transthoracic minimally invasive surgery and to analyze which procedure is possibly the best option in treatment of ventricular septal defect(VSD).Methods : The study involved 263 patients with simple ventricular septal defect in our hospital during the period from January 1,2013 to anuary 1,2015.36 patients were treated by pereutaneous transcatheter closure(transcatheter group),148 by traditional open-hea~surgery(open-heart group)and 79 by transthoracic minimally invasive surgery(minimally inva—sive surgery group)。The rate of tricuspid valve regurgitation, tricuspid valve stenosis and aortic valve regurgitation at 1 week and 3 months after interventions were analyzed. Results: The rate of aortic valve regurgitation of the transcatheter group and minimally inva—sive surgery group at 1 week follow—up was higher than that of the open-heart group(P <0.05).Neither statistical differences between the transcatheter group and the open-heart group, nor differences between the transcatheter group、 and the open-heart group were found in the rate of aortic valve regurgitation at 3 months follow—up(both P >0.05).There were no significant differences either between the transcatheter group and the open-heart group, nor differences between the transcatheter group、 and the open-heart group were found in the rate of tricuspid valve regurgl’tation, the rate of tricuspid valve stenosis at 1 week and 3 months follow-up(both P>0.05).Conclusions: Three procedures are all safe and effective in treating VSD.The function of the valves are mildly impacted after three procedures but are improved during the short—term follow-up.Condition should be fully assessed and right procedure should be chosen according to diferent indications.
