Objective: Based on the experience of the database construction at home and abroad, this study integrated multi-ethnic and diverse medical resources in Xinjiang, and according to the local lung cancer clinical characteristics to establish lung cancer database and blood specimens bank. On the one hand, can satisfy the medical colleges and universities, hospitals, scientific research personnel to meet the quick, accurate and efficient scientific research needs. On the other, be able to regulate and rational use of blood samples from lung cancer, and to build a favorable research platform for clinical and basic research of lung cancer.Methods: Based on the design verification from the oncology, pathology experts, thoracic surgery expert, information center on database construction, through various organization, the following aspects of the construction will be constructed: First, a comprehensive, standardized, reasonable and easy statistical survey based on the clinical features of patients with lung cancer and clinical outcomes in the region was designed. Second, according to the designed clinical questionnaire, a browser / server(Browser / Server B / S) structure model, the front-end using the hypertext markup language(Hyper Text Markup Language Html) production, Hypertext Preprocessor(Hypertext background use Preprocessor PHP) and relational database management systems(My SQL) was used to establish lung cancer database. Third, lung cancer patients was collected from the First Affiliated Hospital of Shihezi University School of Medicine, in the period of Nov. 2013 to Oct. 2014, and 10 cases of healthy persons were collected as the blank control, and 20 patients with benign lung lesions were collected as the mock. Blood serum, plasma, lymphocytes and serum DNA was collected and extracted. Forth, quality control was carried out every six months to examine the concentration of serum CEA and CYFRA21-1, to verify the viability of lymphocytes by trypan blue staining.Results: First, according to the designed clinical questionnaire, a database with extensive clinical resources, reasonable structures, fast search and storage, easy to learn, easy to operate, and with key export excel statistical functions, was established. The database is currently running well. Second, According to the experimental design and methods, the bank of blood samples of lung cancer was established. 267 cases of serum samples, 264 cases of plasma samples, 253 cases of lymphocytes, and 50 cases of serum DNA was collected. Third, every six months examination of serum CEA, CYFRA21-1 concentration, viability of lymphocytes, which indicated that the blood samples were currently in good quality.Conclusions: 1.This standardized lung cancer database possessed rich contents and comprehensive clinical data in patients, and armed with the ability of fast data entry, storage, query, browse and statistical analysis, which provided important information for clinical studies of lung cancer, and promoted the research on clinical lung cancer studies. 2. The establishment of lung cancer blood sample bank, provided a favorable platform for the prevention and treatment of lung cancer in our hospital and laid the foundation for scientificresearch.
