| Objectives:To investigate the factors of the compliance of deciduous teeth o rthodontic treatment in children, providing predictors of the complianc e of deciduous teeth orthodontic treatment in children, as well as the basis of strategies for the development of the compliance of deciduo us teeth orthodontic treatment in children. To explore the effects of T ell-Show-Do program to intervene the compliance of deciduous teeth orthodontic treatment in children, proving reference for the manageme nt of the compliance of deciduous teeth orthodontic treatment in chil dren.Methods:1.130 children were divided into 2 groups according to the Ven ham’s clinical ratings of anxiety and cooperative behavior, the childre n scored 3-5 were divided to dental behavior management program(D BMP) group and the children scored 0~2 were divided to non DBM P group. The demographic characteristics of the children, Parent Temp erament Questionnaire, Social Development scales of preschool Childre n, Teaching Style of Parents were finished by the parents of the chil dren. Venham’s clinical ratings of anxiety and cooperative behavior w as used to evaluate the anxiety and cooperative behaviors of the chil dren and Wong-Baker faces pain rating scale was used to evaluate the fear level of children of medicine environment.2.120 children scored 3-5 were divided into trial group and co ntrolled group by random numbers method after finished the Venham’ s clinical ratings of anxiety and cooperative behavior. The trial group was treated after the finish of Tell-Show-Do program and the contro lied group finished the treatment as usual. The status of wearing corr ecting device and oral hygiene maintenance were evaluated at 1 wee k,2 week and 4 week after treatment respectively. Social Developmen t scales of preschool Children were finished at 4 week to evaluate th e changed of mental status of children.3. All the data was recorded with EPIDATA and analyzed by SP SS 19.0,including descriptive analysis, chi-square test, rank-sum teResults:1. Age of children, medical history of dental, education status of mothers and family structures showed significance between the DB MP group and non DBMP group.(P<0.05)2. In term of teaching style, indulgent style parents and noninter ference style parents in the DBMP group were more than in the non DBMP, democratic style parents in the DBMP group were less than the in the non DBMP group. There existed significance, P<0.05.3. About the temperament of the children,the children of tempera ment with trouble type, intermediate to difficult type, slow temperame nt in the DBMP group were significantly more than in the DBMP gr oup; the children of common temperament type in the DBMP group are less than the children in non DBMP group. On the temperament dimensions, adaptability, mood and persistence dimension of the child ren in DBMP group scored higher than the children in non DBMP g roup, there existed significant difference, P<0.05.4. In the social development, complying with social rules, willpo wer, habits of the children in the DBMP group scored higher than th e children in the non DBMP group. In the dimension of attachment t o family, the children in the DBMP group scored higher than the chi ldren in the non DBMP group, there was statistic significance, P< 0.05.5. After the intervention of Tell-Show-Do program, the collaborat ion and the compliance of children undergoing the deciduous teeth or thodontic treatment outside the hospital. The dimensions in the compl ying with the social rules and life habits in the social development s cale changed obviously, there was statistical significance, P<0.05.Conclusions:Age, medical history of dental, education status of mothers, fami ly structure, teaching style of parents, temperament and social develo pment of children showed effects on the compliance of deciduous tee th orthodontic treatment in children. At the same time, Tell-show-do program in the current study promoted the the collaboration and the compliance of children undergoing the deciduous teeth orthodontic tre atment outside the hospital. Moreover, this study provided the theoreti cal basis for the prediction of the compliance of children undergoin g the deciduous teeth orthodontic treatment and the management strat egies of the intervention. |
