Purpose:To investigate the risk factors of surgical site infection after lumbar posterior arthrodesis and reduce the incidence of surgical site infection after lumbar posterior arthrodesis. To improve the therapeutic effect of the lumbar posterior arthrodesis. Methods:Choose the patients of lumbar posterior arthrodesis in Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital College Of Medicine Zhejiang University from June 2014 to December 2014. Record the number of white blood cells, neutrophils, C-reactive proteins on the day before having surgery, the first orday, the third day, the fifth day and the seventh day after having surgery. According to the Mustard standard to diagnosis the surgical site infection after lumbar posterior arthrodesis. Results:The infection rate of patients over 60 years old was 8.82%, while infection rate of patients under 60 years old was 5.56%, there was no significant difference (P> 0.05). The infection rate of male patients was 7.69%, while infection rate of female patients was 6.67%, there was no significant difference (P> 0.05). The infection rate of patients who BMI>24 kg/m2 was 12.73%, while infection rate of patients who BMI>24 kg/m2 was 3.53%, there was significant difference between two groups (P<0.05). The infection rate of patients with diabetes was 18.18%, while infection rate of patients without diabetes was 3.74%, there was significant difference between two groups (P<0.05). The infection rate of patients whose operation time over 180 minutes was 9.43%, while infection rate of patients whose operation time under 180 minutes was 5.75%, there was no significant difference (P> 0.05).Conclusion:Diabetes, obesity is the risk factor for surgical site infection after lumbar posterior arthrodesis, and other factors such as age, sex, operation time had no significant differences. CRP peaked on third r days after the operation, the WBC in the highest on third day, was back to the normal level in one week after the operation.
