Smoking can induce many diseases; damage almost all organs of various body systems. In China, tobacco control is a common event, many public places are required to prohibit smoking. Hospital as a special public place should become demonstration units of no-smoking. However, hospital tobacco control results are not significant through site investigation of a hospital in Nanchang, smoke-free hospital is still unrealized.Launch of hospital tobacco control work is to achieve a smoke-free hospital environment. In many developed countries, the purpose of actively promotion of national tobacco control policy is to create a smoke-free society. For the entire world, smoking is a universal and hazardous status, therefore, all countries has been trying in the road on tobacco control, this study focuses on the meaning, background, present situation, difficulties and countermeasures aspect of hospital tobacco control. Through specific analysis of actual cases, we draw the relevant conclusions. In tobacco control efforts of hospitals in China, the most important factors include tobacco control policy legislation, tobacco control law enforcement, medical personnel support for tobacco control policy, patient and other people’s views and support for tobacco control work. After the investigation and a detailed analysis, the study come to a result that major dilemma our hospital facing in tobacco control are the lack of execution of tobacco control policies and the medical staff did not actively involved in tobacco control. Combined with relevant experience in domestic and international tobacco control in hospitals, the current tobacco control efforts to improve our hospital inefficient status quo of the main countermeasures to improve the relevant laws and regulations, with outside forces to promote tobacco control in hospitals, to promote the medical staff involved in tobacco control, through these countermeasures and methods around hospital tobacco control efforts, and other medical personnel from the social and legal aspects of tobacco control work in hospitals to think through these countermeasures and methods, and actively promote the smooth conduct of the hospital’s tobacco control efforts.
