Extraction Of Active Ingredients From Scutellaria By High Pressure Homogenization

Traditional Chinese medicine is mainly originated in China. Chinese medicine contains a variety of active ingredients, so we need to extract and isolate the active ingredients from plants to study them. Extracting the active ingredients from traditional Chinese medicine is an important element in the field of traditional Chinese medicine research. The purpose is to maximize the extraction of the active ingredients in traditional Chinese medicine, to avoid the decomposition of the active ingredients and the dessolution of the ineffective ingredients.In this paper, the high pressure homogenization technique was applied to the extraction of active ingredients from traditional Chinese medicine, which is a new exploration of Chinese traditional medicine extraction technology. The baicalin, wogonoside, baicalein and wogonin in Scutellaria were extracted and isolated. The extraction yields of these four active ingredients were used as the research object. Operating conditions of extraction by high-pressure homogenization were optimized.In this paper, a large number of experiments have been made toinvestigate the influence factors of the high-pressure homogenization extraction: firstly, the influence factors were studied by single factor investigation, and the level of each factor was determined; then the parameters of Scutellaria active ingredients extraction technology were optimized by response surface method, the mathematical model was established and the optimum parameters were determined.In this paper, the active ingredients of Scutellaria were also extracted by using high-pressure homogenization extraction, ultrasonic extraction and microwave extraction. The yields of the active ingredients were measured by HPLC. Experiments showed that the high pressure homogenization technology is better than ultrasonic extraction and microwave extraction technology.The paper explored a new way to extract the active ingredients of Chinese traditional medicine by studying this subject. High pressure homogenization extraction can be performed at room temperature in order to avoid the effect of the thermal instability. The equipment of the technology is easy to operate and needs shorter time to extract, so it is suitable for large-scale industrial production.
