The incidence and mortality rates of cancer are soaring year after year, not only endanger people’s lives and health, but also increased the financial burden on the family and each country, and caused a lot of harm to society.Although, with the advances in medical technology, the diagnosis of malignancy has been greatly improved, but most patients are found advanced, and a variety of complications are often accompanied, losing the best timing of treatment. With the advances in diagnosis and treatment of cancer, palliation is increasingly showing great appeal.Palliation can be used in various stages of tumor. For patients with advanced cancer, to alleviate the suffering caused by the disease, alleviate the symptoms and improve their quality of life are the primary task of palliation. Therefore palliation plays a huge influence on comprehensive treatment.WHO believes palliative medicine is used in positive diagnosis, treatment and care for the patients that curing treatment has failed,it can not only relieve their pain, but also highly focused on the problem of psychological, spiritual and social aspects, thus improving the life quality of the patients and families.Connotation of palliative care as follows:(1)to observe and diagnose the abnormal physical and inner thoughts of the patients and their families;(2)to observe the symptom again after the treatment and then replace the treatment programs;(3)palliative care given to cancer patients;(4)palliative surgery given to avoid serious complications; palliative radiotherapy(5) given to reduce pain and spinal cord compression; various interventional palliative measures;(6)(7) diagnosis and treatment of mental and other physical symptoms;(8) the doctor-patient exchange, Ethics Discussion, and the assessment of life quality in the all process; treatment of the(9) dying patients;(10) the support and care of caregiver and bereavement services and so on.Palliative care can be used based on the actual situation when the cancer is detected, it is an effective complement to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. This study is about giving appropriate palliative measures to advanced malignant tumor inpatients meeting the palliative treatment to improve their pain, appetite, sleep, anxiety and depression, so that we can assess the recent benefit of life quality for end-stage cancer patients accepting palliative care. ObjectiveBy improving the cancer pain appetite, sleep, anxiety and depression of hospitalized patients with advanced malignant tumor, we can assess the recent benefit of life quality for end-stage cancer patients accepting palliative care. Methods108 cases of advanced cancer patients selected by simple random sampling were randomly divided into control and treatment groups, including control group of 30 cases, treatment group of 78 cases.control group uses conventional methods of diagnosis and treatment; treatment group uses conventional methods of diagnosis and treatment combined with palliative care, total treatment for four weeks.Through the following comparison of the two groups to improve the situation,we can compare the improvement of the two groups through the following aspects.(1)using numerical rating scale(NRS) assess the pain of enrolled patients, we can compare the pain remission after two weeks, four weeks.(2)using NRS-2000 assess the nutritional state of enrolled patients, we can compare the nutritional improvement after two weeks, four weeks.(3)using Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA-14) and Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD-24) assess the anxiety and depression of enrolled patients,we can compare the remission of the anxiety and depression after two weeks, four weeks. In treatment group, improving appetite, relieving pain, easing the mood, improving sleep and other palliative symptomatic treatment were given, In control group, conventional treatment are given, lastly, using the Quality of life scales assess the improvement of life quality after two weeks, four weeks. Result 1.The improvement of bone pain in advanced cancer patientsPatients with cancer pain selected were given appropriate treatment, the patients in treatment group get the significant improvement in bone pain, while the patients in control group don’t have significant improvement in the bone pain, the difference between two groups has statistical significance(P<0.05). 2.The remission of advanced cancer patients with malnutritionPatients with malnutrition selected were given appropriate treatment, the patients in treatment group get the significant improvement in malnutrition, while the patients in control group don’t have significant improvement in the malnutrition, the difference between two groups has statistical significance(P<0.05). 3.The improvement of advanced cancer patients with anxiety / depressionPatients with anxiety/depression selected were given appropriate treatment, the patients in treatment group get the significant improvement in anxiety/depression, while the patients in control group don’t have significant improvement in the anxiety/depression,the difference between two groups has statistical significance(P<0.05). 4.Effect of Palliation on the assessment of improved short-term life quality in patients with advanced malignant tumorFor selected patients with advanced cancer, the treatment group received conventional therapy, psychological support, improving sleep, improving appetite, relieving pain, correcting anemia, relieving nausea and vomiting, while the control group doesn’t receive chemotherapy and radiotherapy without palliative treatment; the patients in treatment group get the significant improvement in life quality, while the patients in control group don’t have significant improvement in life quality, the difference between two groups has statistical significance(P<0.05). ConclusionPalliation of patients with advanced cancer, can significantly reduce the suffering of patients, relieve their stress, improve physical comfort, thus improve the quality of life of cancer patients.
