Objective:To explore the efficacy and the safety of argon plasma coagulation (APC) combined with cryotherapy for the treatment of central tracheal stenosis. Methods:Collecting the case who admitted in the Children’s Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from May 2014 to January 2015. Those cases included 3cases were subglottic stenosis, lease was tracheal stenosis. The4 case were divided into Ⅳ° according Cotton-Myer’s grading system: 3 case were Ⅲ°,1 case were Ⅱ°. The 4 case were treated by APC combined cryotherapy through the flexible bronchoscope. Before and after the combinated treatmenr, all the patients were evaluated based on clinical symptoms, tracheal lumen by bronchoscopy, chest CT for tracheal stenosis, complications and outcome.Results:1. Two of the 4 cases were male and 2 female, the age from 8 months old to 7 years old, the average age was 37.5 months old. The intubation time were 2~14 (7.7±5.3) days. The course of disease were 22~70 (39.0±21.3) days.2. The duration of the 4 cases were 3 to 6 (4.0±1.5)months, all of them were treated for 6~10times.3. The result was significantly effective in three cases, partilly effective in 1 case.4. One case had subcutaneous emphysema after the first APC combined with CO2 cryotherapyCONCLUSIONSAPC combined with CO2 cryotherapy is a safe, efficient, simple and rapid method for treatment of central tracheal stenosis in children, have clinical popularization value.
