Purpose:To compare the results of robotic and traditional laparoscopic gastrectomy by meta-analysis.Methods:Original articles published before November 2014 were searched for in electmnic databases(PubMed,Medline, Cochrane Library, Wanfang,VIP,CNKIetc). According to the inclusion criterion, nine anicles were identified which compare the outcomes of robotic and laparoscopic gastrectomy. Using RevMan5.2 software to analyze data, Meta—analysis was performed by fixed or random effects model according to the the data heterogeneity.Result:9 retrospective studies including 2851 patients with gastric cancer were screened out and there were 1917 patients in the laparoscopic group and 934 patients in the robotic group. Compared with traditional laparoscopic group, longer operation time, less blood loss, earlier semifluid diet time and shorter anal exsufflation time were observed in the robotic group (WMD=46.40,-33.86,-0.24,-0.27,P<0.05);There were no signific ant differences in the numher of lymph node dissected, morbidity, hospital stay, resection margin between the robotic group and the laparoscopic gr oup(WMD=0.68,OR=1.16, WMD=-0.61, WMD=0.31、0.04, P>0.05).Conclusion:Compared with laparoscopy, robotic gastrectomy has many advantages such as less injury and quicker bowel function recover. Similar even better radical resection can be achieved compared to laparoscopic gastrectomy. So the robotic gastrectomy is safe and feasible for gastric cancer, it is worthy of popularization and application in clinic.
