Objective:This clinical study through the randomized controlled trial (RCT), multicenter observation, and Observing indexes of the integral Traditional ChineseMedicine(TCM) symptoms and physical signs, pulmonary function changes, to evaluate the clinical efficacy of the TCM Integrated Programs of the qi deficiency and blood stasis type of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis(IPF) with tonifying qi and eliminating phlegm, dispelling stasis of TCM. This is in order to exploring treatment inntegrated traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine for IPF.Method:The study collects of 54 patients of IPF who were in Teaching Hospital of Chengdu University of T.C.M in September 2012 to March 2014, and meeting the inclusioncriteria, were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group. The control group received basic western medicine treatment. The experimental group received tonifying qi and eliminating phlegm, dispelling stasis with 3 spread by stasis soup, and they were the characteristics of Yiqi huoxue Scattered, and Gua Luo Xie Bai Ban Xia Decoction, On the basis of the control group. The treatment course is 6 months. Observe changes related curative effect indexes before and after treatment in both groups, filled in Case Report Forms. Use SPSS 19.0 software package to do the statistical analysis. Results:The experimental group total effectiveness is 66.67%, and the control group is 37.04%, and there is statistically significant difference. In aspect of improving the integral TCM symptoms and physical signs, blood gas analysis index, pulmonary function index, ST. George’s respiratory questionnaire(SGRQ) score,6 minutes walk test(6MWT), there is statistically significant difference, so the experimental group is superior to the control group. About educing hospital readmission rate by 1 year between the two groups, there is statistically significant difference, So the experimental group is superior to the control group. Adverse events between the two groups, there is no statistically significant difference. Conclusions:In aspect of improving the integral TCM symptoms and physical signs, Blood gas analysis index, pulmonary function index, the quality of life, and reducing hospital readmission rate, treatment inntegrated traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine is superior to western medicine internal medicine treatment. And there was no statistically significant difference about adverse events between the two treatments. |
