| Objective: At present, Intratympanic steroid therapy has already as salvage treatment for idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss after failure of systemic treatment.the aim of this study is comparing the difference between the mean hearing threshold worse than 70dB(>70d B) and better than 70dB(<70d B) in patients with idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss who had not respond to systemic treatment and take the Intratympanic steroid therapy as a salvage treatment. Methods: search the databases of Pubmedã€Elsevier-Science Directã€Springerlinkã€OVIDã€Cochrane Libraryã€medalinkã€CNKIã€WANFANG DATAã€VIP database from 2000 to 2015 to get related studies, the literatures were seeked out according to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria through reading the full text. From the full text, we screened out the needed data, and use the Reman 5.2 software to analysis the data and get the result. Results: After intratympanic steroids therapy, patients with idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss and mean hearing threashold worse than 70 dB who had not responded to systemic treatment were much more likely to get a better result(OR 2.90, 95%: 1.49~5.65) than patients with mean hearing threashold better than 70 dB. Conclusion: There is obvious difference between the two groups, patients with the mean hearing threshold worse than 70 dB after systemic treatment then take the Intratympanic steroid therapy received better therapeutic action. As a result, there is more reason to take the Intratympanic steroid therapy as salvage treatment for the patients with idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss after failure of systemic treatment and mean hearing threshold worse than 70 dB, However, to the other group patients, we should think twice. |
