Objective:To discuss the evaluation value of cell DNA Index for the efficacy of before and after radiotherapy for body surface lump patients.Method: A total of 50 patients(28 men and 22women; median age, 57.5 years; range,23 years to 73years) with body surface lump underwent local Electron beam radiotherapy from July 2014 to October 2015. The short-term effects were measured and compared at fourth week after radiotherapy and the patients were divided as CR+PR group, SD group, and PD group, using DNA- ICM, test before and after fourth week radiotherapy of DNA Index. The levels of cell DNA Index were measured and compared before radiotherapy and after one month for different groups, and the sensitivity and specificity of the method evaluating the efficacy of radiotherapy by cell DNA Index were calculated. Results:In the 50 patients with radiotherapy after one month, there were 3(6%)patients of CR, 31(62%) of PR, 9(18%) of SD and 7(14%) of PD. The levels of cell DNA Index in CR+PR group(squamous carcinoma, adenocarcinoma and other groups)decreased after radiotherapy(P<0.05), while those in the SD group(squamous carcinoma, adenocarcinoma and other groups) had no significant difference before and after radiotherapy(P>0.05),and those in the PD group(squamous carcinoma, adenocarcinoma and other groups) increased after radiotherapy(P<0.05). The sensitivity of the method was 73.53%, and the specificity was 75.00%.Conclusions:Before and after of radiotherapy in DI value level can accurately evaluate radiotherapy curative effect, and find out high sensitivity and specific degree. The cell DNA Index can be used in assessing short- term efficacy after radiotherapy in patients with body surface lump, and the method is of satisfactory sensitivity and specificity.
