Integrin αvβ6 Acts As A Prognostic Indicator In Breast Cancer, A Comparison Between China And Bangladesh

Background:Integrin αvβ6 plays an important role in the development and progression of cancer. The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of Integrin αvβ6 and make a comparison between China and Bangladesh.Methods: The expression level of integrin αvβ6 was evaluated in breast cancerous and paraneoplastic tissues of 78 cases from China and 42 cases from Bangladesh via immunohistochemically stain. And its clinical significance was also explored.Results: The expression of integrin αvβ6 was significantly associated with histological grade (China group P=0.032, Bangladesh group P=0.013) and axillary lymph node involvement (China group P=0.010, Bangladesh group P=0.001). The survival analysis by Kaplan-Meier indicated the median follow-up time of two groups was lower with positive integrin αvβ6(China group P=0.021, Bangladesh group P=0.002, the log-rank test).Conclusion:Integrin αvβ6 is the indicator for invasion and metastasis of breast cancer in both China and Bangladesh and might be a important basis for treatment in future.
