Magnetic resonance imaging is a valuable medical diagnostic tool that uses the interaction of strong magnetic fields and atomic nuclei in biological tissues to obtain high resolution tomographic images of patients.RF coil is a critical component of the MRI system that excites the nuclei in the sample and receives the signal that is reconstructed into the image. RF body coil is responsible for coupling the energy generated by RF amplifier, and produce uniform B1 field in a large image volume.In this paper, expound the design principle of the RF birdcage body coil, and introduced the classification and distinction between the coils. Analyzed the birdcage coil frequency mode, and given the frequency solving equations of the birdcage coil. Set up a birdcage coil transmission line equivalent model, according to the established parameters of the transmission line equivalent model, simulate the frequency by ADS, and using electromagnetic simulation software CST, further verification resonance frequency and the corresponding field intensity distribution, and build the prototype of the birdcage body coil to verification frequency and B1 field.
