Objective:To determine the antifungal susceptibility of Candida species isolated from patients with vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC).Materials and methoes:Antifungal susceptibility testing was performed using a broth microdilution method according to NCCLS guidelines.Results:This study detected 1139 strains of vulva vagina candida specim ens. The fluconazole and itraconazo le-susceptible, susceptible dose-dependent(SDD) and-resistance rates of C. albicans were 81.6%,10.12% and 8.72% and 73.45%,18.59% and 7.96%,respectively.The fluconazole-resistant and-susceptible dose-dependent rates of C. glabrata were 93.88% and 6.12%,respectively. The itraconazole-resistant and-susceptible dose-dependent rates of C. glabrata were 32.65% ,27.21% and 40.14%,respectively.Geometric mean MICs in C. glabrata,C. parapsilosis,C. tropical,C. krusei,C. famata and Saccharomyces cerevisiae was higher than that of C. albicans for several azoles,P< 0.05.MIC90 for terbinafine to all detection of candida spp. were more than 32μg/ml.Conclusion:Candida albicans is susceptible to fluconazo le and itraconazole. The Risistant rate of non-albi cans to itraconazole is higher than that of Candida albicans. The (MIC) geom etric mean value and MIC 90 of Candi da albicans to m iconazole, clotrimazole are lower than that of non-albicans. Candida albicans and non-albicans are genarally susceptibile to nystatin. Terbinafine is resistant to Candida.
