Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of by 24-h intravenous infusion in combination with capecitabine in the second and third line treatment of advanced colorectal cancer (C R C). Methods From May 2014 to October 2015,124 patients in our hospital with metastatic colorectal carcinoma were randomized into two groups, experimental group [CPT-11 (100mg/m 2 continuous infusion for 24 h on day 1 and day 8), capecitabine (2000 mg/m 2/d, po bid,on days 1 to 14),the regimen was repeat every 3 weeks],control group[CPT-11 (100mg/m 2 continuous infusion for 30-90minutes on day 1 and day8), capecitabine (2000 mg/m 2/d, po bid,on days 1 to 14),the regimen was repeat every 3 weeks] Results In this study, overall response rate (ORR) in experimental group was 61.3%, overall response rate (ORR) in control group was 43.5%. Conclusion:The regimen CPT-11 by 24-h intravenous infusion in combination with capecitabine is efficacious and tolerable for metastatic colorectal cancer.
