Objective To investigate lung function characteristics of preterm infants with and without bronchopulmonary dysplasia when they were 2 years old,and to determine the morbidity of respiratory tract infection and rehospitalization. Methods Retrospective analysis total of 52 cases of BPD in premature infants in Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Medical University Of Anhui. Summarize the history of birth and mother pregnancy, clinical treatment, and complication about these children.Select 34 non-BPD preterns and 38 term infants as control group.Infants with diseases interfering with lung function, such as congenital heart disease, congenital diaphragmatic hernia,or thoracic wall deformities, were excluded. Lung function was tested and the clinical symptoms was investigated when they were 2 years old. Results There were 52 cases of BPD among the total of 284 cases of VLBW.Disposition of gestation age:less than 28w 7cases,between 28w and 32w 38cases, between 32w and 34w 7cases. Disposition of birth weight:less than 1000g 6cases, between 1000g and 1500g 32cases.Of the total 52 premature neonates,35 cases were diagnosed as mild BPD,9 cases as moderate BPD,8 cases as severe BPD.There were 29 cases mothers with pregnancy complications,13 cases with hypertensive disorders in pregnancy,12 cases with premature rupture of membrane. After the comprehensive treatment,3 cases abandon treatment,3 cases suggest the superior hospital continue to treatment, and 46 cases recovered after treatment and got discharged. There were no significant differences in body height and weight between three groups, but the number of respiratory tract infection、wheezing and rehospitalization among these groups had significant differences. There were significant differences in VT、TI/TE、 TPF/TE、VPF/VE、TEF75、TEF50 and TEF25 in three groups. Compared with non-BPD pretern,BPD infants had lower VT、TI/TE、VPF/VE、TEF75、TEF5O and TEF25. There were significant differences between non-BPD pretern and term infants. Conclusions Premature infants, very low birth weight infants, mechanical ventilation, infection, patent ductus arteriosus are the key factors in developing BPD.Besides, elderly pregnancy, pregnancy complication and sex are also affect the incidence of BPD.BPD infants have a significantly higher rate of respiratory tract infection and rehospitalization than non-BPD pretern and term infants, the wheezing is more evident. At the age of 2 years old,BPD and non-BPD pretern infants have a abnormal lung function, expecially small airway obstruction, the BPD group is more evident.
