ObjectiveThrough investigating and analyzing the qualified rates of swimming pool water samples, monitoring indicators, and the health status of water quality of the different types of swimming venues in Hefei city and four districts from 2010 to 2015, and through the questionnaire survey, in order to know the relevant knowledge about health related with swimming pool in Hefei City, and to provide a theoretical basis for the relevant departments to develop interventions.MethodsThe objects of investigation were the swimming places which have opened to the outside in Hefei city and four districts from 2010 to 2015, and the water samples were collected by the Hefei municipal health surveillance. The results of samples were from each county Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Laboratory, testing according to the “Public health standards for monitoring and inspection methods", and evaluating according to the "Swimming places health standards(GB9667–1996)". The hygienic indexes of the monitoring are including the total number of bacteria, coli form bacteria, urea, turbidity, leaching foot pool of free residual chlorine, swimming pool free residual chlorine etc. Among them, free residual chlorines of the dip foot pool and the swimming pool are field detection. The total number of bacteria, coli form bacteria, urea, turbidity, leaching foot pool of free residual chlorine, the pool of free residual chlorine and other indicators were evaluating according to the "Hygienic standard for swimming place"(GB9667–1996). SPSS17.0 was used for data entry, strict data check, logical examination and abnormal value judgment and processing.According to the purpose and requirements of the survey and "Hygienic standard for swimming venues", the questionnaire was designed, including the general situation of the staff and the awareness of health knowledge in swimming venues. 52 employees were selected for the questionnaire survey. Epei Data3.0 was used to establish database and input data. The data were analyzed by SPSS software.ResultsThe water quality monitoring results show, the 6 years overall pass rate in Hefei City from 210 to 2015 is 71.18%, 78.26% in 2010, 45% in 2011, 94.44% in 2012, 52.54% in 2013, 69.44% in 2014 and in 81.16% in 2015. Among the 6 indexes of swimming pool water, the pass rate of turbidity is the highest(99.46%), and the pass rate of immersion foot pool free chlorine was the lowest(74.64%). Among different types of swimming venues, the qualified rate of sports system is highest(93.33%), the qualified rate of guesthouse is lowest(72.81%). The qualified rate of the swimming pools set in school and community were 61.51% and 68.59%, respectively. The results of biological indicators, chemical indicators, disinfection effect indicators of different types of swimming venues show that, The qualified rate of total number of bacteria of the swimming pool set in guesthouses was the highest(93.71%), and which set in school is lowest(87.62%). The qualified rate of urea index in chemical index was 100% in sports system, and the lowest was 89.80% in the swimming pools set in school. Through the analysis of the four areas data, the overall pass rate of 6 years is 66.67% in Luyang of Hefei city, and 90.60% in Shushan District, and 45% in Yaohai District. The overall pass rate of Shushan District is the highest, which is the lowest in Yaohai district.A questionnaire survey was carried out on the awareness of health related knowledge among 52 swimming pool employees, and the response rate was 100%,There were statistically significant differences in the correct rate of question 339 between men and women(P<0.01); the correct rate between different cultural levels was statistically significant(P<0.01); the correct rate between different types of work t was statistically significant(P<0.05). There was no statistical significance(P>0.05) on the correct rate of the different length of service employees.ConclusionSwimming place health management and pool water disinfection need to be further strengthening in Hefei City. Swimming pool chlorine low qualified rate is the main health problems. In the swimming place, the practice operation training of personnel in charge of disinfection work should be strengthened, and the disinfection skills also should be improved. Ensure that compulsory shower facilities, compulsory immersion foot disinfection pool, circulation purification and disinfection facilities must be operating and using normally. Health supervision departments should strengthen the swimming pool water quality of swimming pool water hygiene supervision and sampling, so that the weekly random sampling, testing results and the results of non conformance tracking treatment and other measures to ensure the health and safety of water quality. professional practitioners of swimming venue should be adept in theprofessional knowledge, but the awareness rate of the survey is low. We should strengthen professional knowledge training for practitioners, especially about the water in the pool disinfection method and water exchange frequency.
