OBJECTIVE:to study the Influence of Gallbladder Emptying on Gastroesophageal Reflux by 24 hours Esophageal Multichannel Intraluminal Impedance PH mornitoring (24h MⅡ-ph).METHODS:150 patients with gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) were collected (60 males 90 females, mean age=44.8±17.9). The patients were divided into three groups:normal gallbladder group, gallstones group and gallbladder polyps group. We measured their gallbladder emptying function by B type ultrasound, specifically, we measured the size of gallbladder at 30,60,90 and 120 minutes before and after giving lipid-rich meals. We evaluated their reflux situation including the frequency and ingredient of reflux fluid by 24h MⅡ-phRESULTS:Both gallbladder volume and gallbladder emptying rate were significantly higher in GERD patients with gallstones than the ones with normal gallbladder and gallbladder polyps. The rate of pH<4.0 period and the frequency of liquid reflux was significantly higher in patients with gallstones than the one with normal gallbladder and gallbladder polyps (P<0.05)., The correlation analysis shows the 30 min gallbladder emptying rate positively correlated with the reflux rate (R-893, p<0.001). The patients among these three groups showed no significant difference of GERD symptoms(P>0.05).CONCLUSION:(1) Gallstone causes the dysfunction of gallbladder emptying.(2) 24h MII-pH could detect that the GERD patients with gallstones exerted higher reflux frequency and more complicated reflux ingredient than the patients without gallstones.(3) The abnormality of gallbladder emptying aggravated the reflux of GERD patients but cause no obvious symptoms.
