Objective:The paper measures the SpO2 of wrist, ankle, finger, toes,the back of a hand, instep, pinna, nose and incisors, researches the different with the SaO2 and finds the maximum differentiation to determine the most suitable position for the ICU patients measuring the SpO2. Meanwhile, observing the influence of indwelling gastric tube to the measurement of SpO2.Method:99 Surgical ICU patients of a first-class hospital at grade three in Ji Nan measuring the SpO2 between July 2015 and December 2015 are chosen to be the observation samples. The SaO2 and the SpO2 of wrist, ankle, finger, toes, the back of a hand, instep, pinna, nose and incisors of every patient are measured in the same time.6 patients are exclusive because of the measurements missing. Compare the SaO2 with the SpO2 of nine positions.The data are expressed with mean±standard deviation and analyzed by the statistical software SAS 9.2. The differences between the SaO2 and the SpO2 of nine positions are tested by paired t-test. The influence of indwelling gastric tube to the measurement of SpO2 are tested by paired t-test or Chi-square test. The effect is statistical significant when P< 0.05. The correlation between the SaO2 and the SpO2 of nine positions are expressed by their correlation coefficients.Result:The comparison between the SaO2 and the SpO2 of nine positionsThe SpO2 of wrist is statistical significant lower than the SaO2 with P<0.05, and the other positions’ SpO2 have no statistical significant different with the SaO2 with P>0.05.The correlation between the SaO2 and the SpO2 of nine positionsComputing the correlation between the SaO2 and the SpO2 of nine positions, it is shows than SpO2 of incisors has the maximum correlation with the SaO2, subsequent pinna, the back of a hand, finger, toes, instep, ankle, nose and the minimum is wrist.1. The influence of indwelling gastric tube to the measurement of SpO2The influence of indwelling gastric tube to the measurement of SpO2 has no statistical significant with P>0.05.Conclusion:1. The SpO2 of ankle, finger, toes, the back of a hand, instep, pinna, nose and incisors have no significant different with the SaO2, thus can be used to monitor the critically ill patients’SaO2. The SpO2 of wrist is not recommended to use in clinic.2. The SpO2 of incisors has the maximum correlation with the SaO2.In view of its probe is 4-5 times the price of common probes, the incisors is not recommended as a common measuring position of the SpO2.3. With or without indwelling gastric tube to the measurement of SpO2 has no statistical significant.nose can be a measuring position. |
