The Clinical Research On QuFengXuanFei Method For The Treatment Of Wind Phlegm Obstructing Lung Type Cough Variant Asthma

Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Qufengxuanfei method on the wind-phlegm stay in the lung in patients with cough variant asthma and its impact on the total IgE, percent of eosinophilic granulocyte (Eos), fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) and quality of life.Methods:Based on the randomized control study, selecting CVA patients in Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of TCM from May 2015 to December 2015, in which 60 cases of patients were divided into treatment group and control group, randomly. The treatment group was given oral Qufengxuanfei Chinese native medicine, while the control group received oral montelukast sodium, all with the treatment for four weeks. Then compare the TCM syndromes effects, the total IgE, Eos%, FeNO and Leicester cough questionnaire (LCQ) of the patients in two groups before and after treatment. Use the SPSS 18.0 statistical software for statistical analysis.Results:The total effective rate of the treatment and control group were 96.7% and 86.7%, respectively, and the treatment group was higher (P<0.05). In improving the total score and the main symptom score the treatment group was better (P<0.05). After treatment the two groups both can improve the symptoms of nocturnal cough, daytime cough, throat itching, phlegm, chest tightness, shortness of breath, rhinorrhea and sneezing (P<0.01), and the treatment group was better than the control group on nocturnal cough, throat itching and sneezing (P<0.05), and the time required to relieve cough was lower (P<0.05). The two groups both can reduce the total IgE、Eos% and FeNO (P<0.05), and the treatment group was superior in improving the total IgE and Eos%(P<0.05). The LCQ total score, physiological, psychological and social score all improved in two groups (P<0.05), and in the LCQ score, physiological and psychological score the treatment group were significantly better than the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion:Qufengxuanfei method in the treatment of wind phlegm obstructing lung type CVA patients can effectively improve clinical symptoms and quality of life, reduce total IgE, Eos%, FeNO levels and shorten the time need to relieve cough, and in improving nocturnal cough, throat itching, sneezing and physiology, psychological state was significantly better than that of the control group.
