Objective Through mechanical experiment to explore the tensile bond strengths of three luting materials used in model of vertically fractured posterior teeth. Provide a reference for clinicians choosing suitable luting materials for bonding vertically fractured posterior teeth. Methods Thirty intact freshly extracted human posterior teeth were sectioned into vertically fractured models. The models were randomly divided into three groups with different luting materials for bonding. Group A:Super bond C&B; Group B:Clearfil SE bond; Group C:Fuji-Ⅱ. The next step were cut the models into dentin bars what the bonding area were 2 mm×3 mm.Choose to meet the requirement of the experimental bars——test specimens.Put the specimens into the thermostat with artificial saliva, and the immersion should keep in(37±1℃)for 24 hours. The specimens were fixed on the microcomputer control electron universal testing machine and recorded data.According to the bonding area to calculate tensile strength.Formula expression:Bond strength(MPa)= Peak stress(N)÷Bonding area(mm2)Results The tensile bond strengths were (22.58±3.02)MPa and (20.66±1.80)MPa for Super bond C&B and Clearfil SE bond. The tensile bond strength of Fuji-Ⅱ glass ion cement was (5.01±1.49)MPa. They were statistically different (p=0.00< 0.05).Conclusion The Super bond c & b’s bond strength is higher than that of Clearfil SE bond, Fuji-Ⅱ glass ionomer cement’s bond strength is far lower than the Super bond C&B and Clearfil SE bond. Super bond C&B and Clearfil SE bond can be used in the verticaly fractured teeth treatment.
