Objective: Explore the effect of two operative methods for complete mesentery resection of colon cancer on relevant operation indicators and postoperative recovery. To further clear the application value of laparoscopic technique.Method: During January 2013 to December 2015, 49 cases of colorectal cancer were included in General Surgery Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical college, of which 24 cases were assigned to laparoscopic CME and 25 to laparotomy group. Get the clinical and follow-up data to compare the operative quality, postoperative recovery, postoperative complications, recurrence or metastasis and death between the two groups.Result: All of the 49 patients received follow-up with a median time of 19 months. The differences of time of flatus passage, extubation time, colostomy rate, number of lymph nodes dissection,TNM stage of the tumor and tumor recurrence/metastasis rates(4.17% and 8%) were not statistically significant(P > 0.05),but the laparoscopic group were better than laparotomy group in the blood loss, postoperative drainage, surgical time, hospitalization time and the diameter of tumor(P < 0.05). There was 1 death case in open CME.Conclusion:Laparoscopic complete mesentery excision with the advantages of minimally invasive and quick recovery, can achieve the same effect of tumor resection. With the development of laparoscopic technique, its application indications have been relaxed and has a good application prospect.
