Objective:Through the way of collecting non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) patients’clinical data, to explore the internal relations between TCM Constitution and TCM syndrome type of NAFLD patients. Methods:By means of question ivestigation,189 patienis with NAFLD are gathered. They are categorized into nine constitution types and five syndrome types.Data base was established by Microsoft Excel and data was analyzed by SPSS 19.0 statistical software.Results:1.The frequency of TCM Constitution types in NAFLD in descending order is:phlegmy-dampness type (24.9%)> dampness -heat type (16.9%)> Qi-deficiency type (16.4%)> Yin-deficiency type(15.3%)> Yang-deficiency type(11.6%)> Qi-depression type (6.4%)> gentleness type (4.8%)>blood-stasis type (2.1%) >special inherited type (1.6%).There are obviously differences between different age groups. In the youth group, the most common TCM Constitutions are phlegmy-dampness type and dampness -heat type.In the middle-aged group, the most common TCM Constitutions are phlegmy-dampness type.Qi-deficiency type and Yin-deficiency type. In the older group, the most common TCM Constitutions are Yin-deficiency type,Qi-deficiency type and Yang-deficiency type.2. The frequency of TCM syndrome type of NAFLD in descending order is:syndrome of phlegm-dampness blocking inner(34.4%)>syndrome of stagnation of liver Qi and spleen deficiency(29.6%)>syndrome of stagnant and jamming dampness-heat(16.9%)>sydrome of liver-Qi stagnation(12.2%)> syndrome of intermingled phlegm and blood stasis (6.9%).3. In the group of people who has elevated BMI, the most common TCM Constitutions are phlegmy-dampness type and Qi-deficiency type. In the group of people who has elevated triglyceride, the most common TCM Constitution is phlegmy-dampness type.4. In the group of people who has elevated triglyceride, the most common TCM syndrome type is syndrome of phlegm-dampness blocking inner and in the normal group, the result is syndrome of stagnation of liver Qi and spleen deficiency.5.Phlegmy-dampness type and Yang-deficiency type are common in syndrome of phlegm-dampness blocking inner.Qi-deficiency type and Yin-deficiency type are common in syndrome of stagnation of liver Qi and spleen deficiency. Dampness -heat type is common in syndrome of stagnant and jamming dampness-heat. Syndrome of stagnation of liver Qi and spleen deficiency is common in Qi-deficiency type. Syndrome of phlegm-dampness blocking inner is common in phlegmy-dampness type.Syndrome of stagnant and jamming dampness-heat is common in dampness-heat type. Sydrome of liver-Qi stagnation is common in Qi-deficiency type and Qi-depression type. Syndrome of intermingled phlegm and blood stasis is common in Yang-deficiency type and blood-stasis type.Conclusion:Phlegmy-dampness type, dampness -heat type and Qi-deficiency type are the major types of the body constitutional type in TCM of NAFLD. Syndrome of phlegm-dampness blocking inner is the most, and the second is syndrome of stagnation of liver Qi and spleen deficiency. We find that patients of phlegmy-dampness type are easy for syndrome of phlegm-dampness blocking inner, the patients of dampness-heat type are easy for syndrome of stagnant and jamming dampness-heat, the patients of Qi-depression type are easy for sydrome of liver-Qi stagnation, and the patients of Qi-deficiency type are easy for syndrome of stagnation of liver Qi and spleen deficiency. This study combines TCM Constitution with TCM Constitution and tell us that in the treatment of NAFLD,we should combine arguing body, disease and syndrome compositively. We could give scope to the advantages of TCM and treat NAFLD actively, then we can prevent the disease and reduce the recurrence.
