Epidemiological Survey Of Blindness And Low Vision Among People Aged 50 And Over In Luxi County Of Yunnan Province

Objective:To study the epidemiological survey of blindness and low vision in 50 years old and over in Luxi County of Yunnan province.Methods:Methods:pre-test was carried out on the formal site investigation, and the repeatability test was carried out to ensure the quality of the investigation. In September 2014-November, in 2006, the national nine provincial eye disease survey in Luxi County, Yunnan Province, random sampling of 21 points, in the sampling point of all 50 years old and above the crowd for visual acuity and eye examination. Visual acuity was measured daily visual acuity and best corrected visual acuity, by the ophthalmologist using a slit lamp and ophthalmoscope, fundus camera to check the eyes, of all daily life vision is equal to or less than 0.5 patients for diagnosis of the main causes. For blind and low vision people, according to the 2009 WHO new standards for classification statistics.Results:a total of 5999 people in total,5592 people, the detection rate was 93.22%. (1) according to the 2009 who the new injury criteria, moderate visual impairment prevalence rate of 13.13%, among them the male 13.20%, female 13.07%; severe visual impairment prevalence rate was 1.57%, in which the male was 1.71%, the female is 1.47%; blind prevalence was 5.35%, among them the male 5.33% women was 5.36%. The prevalence of blindness and low vision increased with the increase of age, but decreased with the increase of the degree of culture, and there was no significant relationship between gender and gender. Blindness and low vision of the primary disease because of cataract.Conclusion:(1) the prevalence of blindness and low vision in Luxi County of Yunnan province was significantly higher than that in the mainland and abroad. The prevalence of blindness and low vision increased with age and decreased with the increase of the degree of culture, and was not related to gender. Age growth is a risk factor for blindness and low vision. (13.39%(2) Yunnan Province Luxi County 50 years old and above the crowd of blindness and low vision in the main etiology in 2009 the new WHO criteria in order to cataract (61.13%), refractive error, high myopia retinopathy (6.01%), corneal opacity/scar (4.87%), amblyopia (2.55%), the he/not sure (2.22%), ocular deletion/contraction (1.88%) and glaucoma (1.64%), posterior capsular opacification (1.58%), diabetic retinopathy (1.41%), optic nerve atrophy (1.17%), age related macular degeneration (0.70%), other retinal/choroidal changes (0.70%), other macular degeneration (0.47%), retinal detachment (0.27%). (3) in Luxi County of Yunnan Province in the elderly population of cataract sick rate is higher, in the region of the prevention of blindness work should focus on the cataract, improve the operation rate is very important. In addition, the refractive error of the local area, high myopia prominent, should improve the quality of the population and further popularization of optometry and glasses orthodontic treatment, at the same time, the infection of the eye problems can not be ignored, should further improve the health situation, raise awareness of self-protection.
