Mandibular Condylar Fracture Patterns Of Injury And Discussion On Digital Evaluation Method Of Condylar Fractures After Treatment

Objective:To review and analyze the fracture condition and type of fracture in patients with mandibular condylar fracture, and to evaluate the effect of surgical treatment on mandibular condylar base fracture with digital method. Methods:1, Data of patients who sustained mandibular condylar fractures from the second hospital of Shanxi Medical University were recorded, including age, sex, fracture aetiology, associated injury, pattern of condylar fracture.2, Subclassification of fractures of the condylar process of the mandible,selection of mandibular base condylar fracture patients. Use teetester to test the occlusion of patients which is condylar fracture patients before and four weeks after the operation of bite force was measured, the maximum teeth contact area, maximum bite force and bite force asymmetry index, the for statistical analysis, assessment of patients with teeth function. Results:1. Under the age of 17 patients with mandibular condylar intracapsular fracture accounted for 57%; in patients over 17 years old condylar base fractures accounted for 44%. 2. 50 sides of the mandibular condylar intracapsular fractures, surgical treatment accounted for 4%, 20 sides of the condylar neck fracture, surgical treatment accounted for 15%, 47 sides of the condylar base fracture, surgical treatment accounted for 83%,. 3. The postoperative maximum occlusive contact area and maximum occlusive force increased significantly, the differences were statistically significant by the paired samples T test. The postoperative occlusive force asymmetry index decreased significantly. The differences were statistically significant by the paired samples T test. And compared to the controlled group, the postoperative maximum occlusive contact area and maximum occlusive force still had a gap, by the two independent samples T test, the differences were statistically significant; while the postoperative occlusive force asymmetry index were closed to the index in controlled group, and the differences were statistically significant by the two independent sample T tests. Conclusion: 1, The site of condylar fracture is age related. There are numerous patients in the minor with a lot of mandibular condylar intracapsular fractures.In adult patients, there are plenty of mandibular condylar base fractures. 2, The treatment of mandibular condylar fracture is related to the type of fracture.Conservative treatment of mandibular condylar fractures and fractures of the neck of the mandible, surgical treatment of condylar base fracture. 3, Digital method can evaluate the occlusive function of condylar fracture after operation.
