OBJECTIVE:Compare the effect of traditional Chinese medicine and interferon in the treatment of cervical human papilomavirus(HPV) infection through clinical research to find more solutions of Chinese medicine and western medicine to treat High-risk HPV infection, expect to enhance the efficacy, and relieve the sufferings, to provide reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment work.METHODS:According to the clinical treatment methods, divide the 167 patients of cervical high-risk HPV infection selecting from August 2013 to February 2015 in our hospital into three groups:47 patients of Chinese medicine group treated with Chinese drugs by our hospital, 60 patients in interferon group treated with Recombinant Human Interferon α-2b Gel, and another 60 patients in control group without any treatment. All the patients in three groups were treated in three months. The high-risk HPV infection before treatment, the negative-converting rate after treatment and high-risk of age would be recorded. The improvements in three groups, suffering from cervical columnar ectopy, were observed before and after treatment respectively. The evaluation and statistics were done using SPSS 19.0 for windows software.RESULTS :According to clinical result analysis, the peak age of high-risk HPV infection were 20-29 years and 40-49 years. The infection rate were 29% and 24% respectively. In Chinese medicine group, 29 cases became negative, 18 cases sustained positive, the negative-converting rate reached 61.7%; In interferon group, 41 cases became negative, 19 cases sustained positive, the negative-converting rate reached 68.3%; In control group, 22 cases became negative, 38 cases sustained positive, the negative-converting rate reached36.7%; The negative-converting rate between Chinese medicine group and interferon group was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Compared with blank control group, the negative-converting rate of Chinese medicine group was higher(P<0.05). Compared with blank control group, the negative-converting rate of interferon group was higher(P<0.05).Cervical columnar ectopy in patients accounting for 34 cases in Chinese medicine group, the cure rate was 2.9%, the total effective rate was 38.2%; Cervical columnar ectopy in patients accounting for 42 cases in interferon group, the cure rate was 19.0%, the total effective ratewas 71.4%; Cervical columnar ectopy in patients accounting for 32 cases in control group, the cure rate was 3.1%, the total effective rate was 12.5%. Compared with Chinese medicine group, the cure rate and total effective rate of interferon group were higher(P<0.05).Compared with control group, the cure rate of Chinese medicine group was lower(P>0.05),but the total effective rate was higher(P<0.05); Compared with control group, the cure rate and total effective rate of interferon group were higher(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Chinese medicine group may effectively increase the negative-converting rate of cervical high-risk HPV infection, and improve the patient’s symptoms of infection. They may be widely used and promoted. Chinese medicine may have certain effect in treating cervical columnar ectopy.
