Influence Of Telephone Call And SMS Follow-up On The Treatment Compliance And Curative Effect Of Inhaled Corticosteroids In Children With Asthma

Objective: Effect of different intervention methods of telephone and SMS on the compliance and curative effect of inhaled corticosteroids in children with asthma. Methods: Selected from the Affiliated Hospital of Medical College of Qingdao University asthma specialist outpatient children with asthma in 120 cases, the patients did not received standardized inhaled corticosteroids. Take the randomization number table,Randomly divided into 3 groups:Telephone and SMS group: the group began to send text messages from the newly diagnosed date, suggesting that the timely inhaled medications at first weeks of treatment, 4 weeks and 12 weeks, call their visit. SMS group: since the onset date began to send text messages, prompting the timely inhaled drugs, and inform the next time at each visit to visit. The control group: the patients were newly diagnosed and only in patient were given routine guidance, to inform their next visit time. 3 groups of children were given powder device inhaled drug, routine medication guide, for a period of 12 weeks of observation, parallel asthma control level evaluation, at the same time, pulmonary function(including FVC, FEV1, PEF, FEF25%, FEF50% and FEF75%) determination. The compliance of 3 groups, the control level of asthma after treatment and the results of lung function test were compared. Results:(1). Compliance: telephone and SMS group 37 cases, compliance rate was 86.49%, compared with the SMS group and the control group differences were statistically significant(χ2 =7.862,P<0.01;χ2 =28.497,P<0.01). SMS group 32 cases the compliance rate of 56.25%, compared with the control group the difference was statistically significant(χ2 =8.215,P<0.01). In the control group, the compliance rate was low.(2).Clinical control situation: 3 groups of children with asthma after 12 weeks of treatment, telephone and SMS group total effective rate was 94.59%, compared with the SMS group and the control group had significant difference(χ2 =9.430,P<0.01;χ2 =28.767,P<0.01).SMS group total effective rate was 75%, compared with the control group, the difference was statistically significant(χ2 =9.646,P<0.01).(3). Pulmonary function test:(1) Inhaled corticosteroids after 12 weeks of treatment, 3 groups of children with pulmonary function indexes was improved after the treatment, including telephone and SMS group and SMS group improved significantly, there were significant differences before and after the treatment(P<0.05), the control group of children with pulmonary function index has improved, but there was no significant difference before and after treatment(P>0.05).(2) Comparison of pulmonary function index of airway reactions of the 3 groups of children with asthma after treatment, telephone and SMS group was significantly better than the control group(P<0.01), telephone and SMS group better than SMS group, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05), SMS group better than the control group had significant difference(P<0.01).(3)Comparison of the indexes of pulmonary function in small airway reaction of the 3 groups after treatment, telephone and SMS group better than the SMS group and the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01); SMS group better than the control group, there were statistically significant differences(P<0.01).(4). Because of the children of poor compliance mainly concerned about the adverse reaction, inhaled corticosteroids that after drug withdrawal, the illness is cured for various reasons the forgotten see more, then there is too long and tedious treatment did not grasp the correct inhalation technique and other reasons.Conclusion: telephone and SMS at the same time intervention and only received SMS processing methods can be different degrees of improve children’s asthma inhaled glucocorticoid treatment compliance, which telephone and SMS at the same time intervention can better improve asthmatic children inhaled hormone therapy compliance, improve asthma control level, improve lung function, improve the quality of life, provide clinical experience for better prevention and treatment of asthma in children.
