Objective To evaluate the changes of left atrial structure and function in patients with non rheumatic atrial fibrillation(AF) before and after radiofrequency ablation. Methods Non rheumatic atrial fibrillation in 200 patients, 100 of them were treated by radiofrequency ablation, 100 cases were treated with conservative treatment. The 2 groups before and after treatment after 1 a were examined by transesophageal echocardiography, and the determination of brain natriuretic peptide(Brain natriuretic, peptide, BNP), high sensitive C reactive protein(Hugh C-reactive, prote, hs-CRP) level. The 2 groups were observed and compared the left atrium and left atrial appendage structure and function and changes of serum BNP, hs-CRP levels.Result Radiofrequency ablation group and conservative treatment group before treatment, left atrial diameter,LAD [(45.3±3.2),(45.1±2.6) mm], Left atrial maximum volume,LAVmax[(75.9±5.1),(76.3±4.2)m L],Left atial volume index,LAVI [(97.4±8.3),(98.3±5.1) ml/m2], Left atrial appendage maximum volume,LAAVmax [(7.0±0.8),(6.8±0.9)ml], Left atrial ejection fraction, LA-EF [(47.5± 5.6),(48.2±4.5)%], Left atrial appendage ejection fraction, LAA-EF [(17.1±2.7),(17.5±1.9)%], Left atrial appendage emptying maximun speed,LAA-PEV [(24.4 ± 5.7),(23.2.± 4 9) cm/s], Left ventricular ejection fraction,LVEF [(59±1.7),(59.1±2.2)%], the levels of serum BNP [(47.1±6.5),(46.2±8.4)ng/L], hs-CRP [(8.54± 2.21),(7.91± 3.1)mg / L] were not statistically significant(P >0.05).After treatment 1a,the above indexes were improved in the 2 groupsand ablation group LAD[(35.6±3.4)mm], LAVmax[(66.5±4.4) m L], LAVI[(72.6±5.4) m L/m2],LAAVmax[(4.1±0.5) m L],and the levels of serum BNP[(17.8±5.3) ng/L], hs-CRP[(4.23±1.6)mg/L] were lower than the conservative treatment group[(39.2±2.1)mm,(72.7±3.1)m L,(89.4±2.7)m L/m2,(4.5±0.6)m L,(30.1±6.3)ng/L,(5.5±2.2)mg/L]; LAA-PEV[(38.1±6.5) cm/s], LAA-EF[(22.2±3.5)%], LAEF[(55.6±5.3)%],LVEF[(65.0± 1.4) %] were higher than the conservative treatment group [(33.6±7.3)cm/s,(20.2±3.1)% and(51.1±5.7)% and(60.1±1.1)%] detected differences were statistically significant(P<0.05)Conclusion Radiofrequency catheter ablation can reverse the NRAF patients with left atrial and left atrial appendage function...
