| Cognitive impairment after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage(aSAH) is frequently detected. Prior research investigating atrophy in specific brain areas and global brain atrophy correlates with poor cognitive and functional outcome after aSAH. This article aims to characterize the long-term effects of a aSAH on cognition, day-to-day functioning, and summarizes the recent progress of brain atrophy after aSAH and different imaging examination methods of brain atrophy, provides a reference for the diagnosis and treatment of cognitive and functional impairment after aSAH. |
