Objective:With high intensity focused ultrasound(HIFU) is more and more widely used in clinical treatment of uterine fibroids, and its effect is also widely recognized in the treatment of uterine fibroids. A large number of clinical practice and research have showed it had obvious clinical effect that different MRI T2 WI signal of uterine fibroids treated by HIFU, but the ablation rate of high T2 WI signal is lower compared to other T2 WI signal fibroids. The short-term effect of high T2 WI signal fibroids treated by HIFU can be achieved. Because the blood supply of the uterine fibroids with high T2 WI signal is rich, it is necessary to further improve the ablation rate to prevent the recurrence. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the safety and effectiveness of contrast agents to improve the ablation rate of high T2 WI signal fibroids treated by HIFU.Methods:This paper collected 64 patients with uterine fibroids treated by HIFU in the HIFU cancer center of Suining central hospital between January 2014 and December 2015. They were divided into contrast agents group and the control group according to the preoperative ultrasound imaging within 5 min and 10 min later before HIFU treatment. And compare two groups on average power, treatment time, irradiation time, treatment of strength, therapeutic doses, and ablation rate. Record and compare the adverse reactions and the long-term complications of two groups’ patients treated by HIFU treatment during and after the treatment to evaluate the safety of contrast agents used in HIFU. Follow the fibroid size, reduction rate of fibroids and symptoms of two groups’ patients after HIFU treatment in 1, 3, 6 and 12 months to evaluate of the effectiveness of contrast agents used in HIFU.Results:All patients were successfully completed HIFU treatment, and two groups’ patients both appeared different discomfort associated with treatment, but all eased with corresponding adjustment. Adverse reactions after treatment are A- B referenced to the classification criteria of SIR. All patients had not appeared skin lesions, intestinal lesions, nerve lesions and other serious complications 1 year later after treated by HIFU. The ablation rate of the fibroids in contrast agent group and control group respectively was(83.91±13.72)% and(71.06±12.39)%. After HIFU treatment in 1, 3, 6, 12 months, the fibroids ablation rates and symptom remission rates of contrast agent group were( 34.64±25.27) % 、( 52.65±20.19) % 、(61.60±17.15)%、(87.83±12.19),19.0%、38.5%、80.0%、83.3%; the fibroids ablation rates and symptom remission rates of contrast group were( 40.58±24.46) % 、( 53.29±23.71) % 、( 64.48±17.45) % 、(75.63±11.31)%,14.0%、38.5%、72.7%、70%. The difference between preoperative and postoperative fibroid volume was statistically significant(p < 0.05), and the difference between two groups of fibroid ablation rate was also statistically significant(p < 0.05), and the difference between two groups of symptom complete remission rate after 12 months treatment by HIFU was also statistically significant(p < 0.05).Conclusion:Effect of ultrasound contrast agents for improving HIFU ablation rate for the treatment of uterine fibroids T2 WI high signal is safe and effective.
