A Probe Of MoZi’s "Love Everyone"

"To love each other, to seek mutual benefit" is the most important main idea of philosophical thoughts of Mo Zi. In his mind, people should love each other and gain mutual benefit, which can be considered as the "benefit of the nation". The idea of loving each other proposed by Mo Zi is a kind of generous love between the equal, the only purpose of performing it is to gain the ultimate profit of the whole nation. This kind of love is quite different from the love advocated by Confucius. Mo Zi believes that there should be any differences in love between different people, whether they are relatives or acquaintance, which should be equal to everyone and overcome blood ties. Mo Zi is a man of humble birth, who had an insight into the sufferance of the lower classes. His criticism of the current political affairs based on the social contradiction and the sufferance of people but not focus on destructions of political culture. The only purpose of his theory is to find out how to achieve mutual ideas in the process of achieving mutual benefit, to realize the "be against assault" to avoid the dispute and to gain eternal peace."Tianzhi"is the base of "Love everyone", and the peace-seeking "be against assault" thought is the purpose of it. In the end,"love everyone" may help the rulers to examine the sufferance of people and reflect the spiritual necessity of that period. The spirit of equality, mutual-benefit and peace-seeking thought which are implicated in the thought of "Love everyone" are worthy to be learned by us and nations all over the world.
