Analysis ’Feminism’ In Chinese Contemporary Female Oil Painters’ Artworks

In recent years, the theory of ‘feminist’ has grown more popular. It provides a newperspective for people to study Chinese contemporary female oil painters. And itbecomes one of the most important methods on Chinese contemporary paintings. Afterthe1980s, the concept of ‘feminist ‘began to pour into China. With the constantimprovement of feminist theory, it attracts more and more attention in China, and isused widely in the new study of art history. Briefly, feminism theory provides a newperspective on study Chinese contemporary female oil painters.This dissertation is a special study on ‘feminism’ what is embodied in the artworksof Chinese contemporary female oil painters. In fact, it could be understood the creationstates of Chinese contemporary female oil painters is existing on an equal relationshipamong art, nature and life. This paper is mainly based on semiotics and sociology, toexplore the common and understandable feminist art style which is reflected fromChinese contemporary oil paintings. And all of above ideas would be considered astheoretical core, to analyze the effects on creations of Chinese contemporary female oilpainters by feminism theory. And to analyze some artworks which exhibited thecharacteristics of ‘feminism’ in the conscious and non-conscious of Chinesecontemporary female oil painters，which could help to find out more painters who havethe consciousness of ‘feminist’.This paper will also analyze these painters’ artworks deeply on rendering andcauses of its ‘feminist’ to determine the true artistic value of ‘feminism’ in thecontemporary oil paintings due to the continual process of reflection and attention on‘feminism’, this assay will shows its value and significance. It also will point‘feminism’ is a product of the spiritual which brought by the highly developed socialculture. Finally, this paper will give some suggestions on creative attitude to Chinesecurrent female oil painters: they should always be loyal to their own hearts; at the sametimes, they also should pay attention to the development of entre society, thus tocreative more diversified artworks.
