Catherine Breillat may be one of the most controversialdirectors in Contemporary France,as a female director,She puther life experience and female consciousness into the filmcreation.She always expresses her thinking of traditionalpatriarchal culture by using unconventional images. She triesto reduce women’s true life demand and emotional desires, callfor the awakening of female self-consciousness, lead peopleto re-read the female body which has long been stigmatized andreshape the female images.By doing these,she tries to constructthe illusion of outside culture space to replace the realworld.Catherine Breillat’s films not only greatly promote thedevelopment of the feminist film, but also have revelatorymeaning to contemporary women’s survival. More and more womenbreak away from the traditional culture psychology afterwatching her films,they begin to form independentconsciousness,think about their own survival situation, andactively seek to realize the possibility of identityconstruction.This topic is studying on Catherine Breillat’sfilms.First of all,it uses a comparative perspective toclassify Breillat’s film in allover contemplation.
