On Ancient Prose Of Eastern Zhejiang School In Early Qing Dynasty

This thesis takes ancient prose creation of Eastern Zhejiang School as the object ofstudy and makes an analysis on the works of the members of this School. Besides, byintegrating the social politics, ideology and culture, the author outlines and analyzes theirancient prose creation theory, expecting to make a panoramic introduction on the ancientprose works of Eastern Zhejiang School.The thesis consists of three chapters. Chapter One introduces the Eastern ZhejiangSchool and the politics, ideology and culture at that time. It mainly analyzes the influenceof the social politics, ideology and culture to the ancient prose creation of EasternZhejiang School. Chapter Two is the study on Huang Zongxi’s ancient prose. Throughstudying on Huang’s representative collected works, the author outlines his ancient prosetheory and explores its influence to Huang and his students’ ancient prose creation.Secondly, the authors studies Huang’s ancient prose from following aspects such as thelanguage, the structure, the thought and the artistic style, etc. Thirdly, the author makes anevaluation on Huang’s achievements. Chapter Three is the study on ancient proses ofHuang’s students in Ningbo. In this chapter, the author respectively makes a study on theancient prose theory and creation of Huang Zongxi’s four students such as Li Yesi, ZhengLiang, Wan Sitong and Wan Yan.With Huang Zongxi at the core, Huang’s students in Ningbo inherited and innovatedHuang’s ancient prose creation theory. The Eastern Zhejiang School has exerted aprofound influence on the ancient prose creation in the early Qing Dynasty and played animportant role in the development of Chinese ancient literature.
