Three years flew by rapidly upon the study of my graduate degree. Currently, asgraduation approaches, I have successfully accomplished the first mandatory musicconcert and commentary title defense. According to the most recent graduatedepartment’s admonition, the2011graduate performance direction endorses graduatestudents to use their thesis presentation as a "Graduation Design." The "GraduationDesign" mainly requires students to discourse on their graduation music concert fromthe beginning of the outlining to the end of the performance. I have strictly followedthe graduate department’s guidance from the planning of the individual graduatemusic concert (including the concert’s title, organizers, financial plan, and mediasupport, etc,) to the concert repertoire ideas, comprehension, designs, decisions, musical apprehensions and psychological set which will be conscientiously conversed. There will be a detailed time table that explicitly outlines the daily planning of themusic concert.Through writing this graduate student’s music concert graduation design, I haveorganized many complicated thoughts which have caused me distress for years, construct many creative ideas in which I have worked on for a long term basis, andsummarize the cultural background and critical development of each song performed. This, to me, is a significant improvement. I deeply experienced that:1. As a graduate student trained in the direction of professional performances, theability to become proficient in the specialized field is a basic standard of ouruniversity. Our university has cultivated us step by step with marketing, planning, andcomprehensive packaging, turning us into well-rounded and talented individuals.2. Through the Master’s Recital expressed and expounded in the form of words,it is not difficult to discover the skills we may obtain from a successful concert, suchas presentation abilities, coordination, planning, innovation, social and psychologicalfactors that influence our quality and sets forward a higher requirement standard.3. In the interpretation of the style and our apperceptions through musicalpractice, it is mandatory for us to rehearse all the pieces that will be performed duringthe concert assiduously by constant refining in order for us to be confident inpresenting a successful performance.I express my gratitude to the Graduate Department as they gave me this rareopportunity to write this dissertation.
