Cigarette Case Dancing, being a wonderful work among the folk dance, is one of the folk arts which integrates many attributions like entertainment, inheritance, mass participation and diversity, distributed among Yi nationality Branch-Nisupo. The dance implicates rich culture values including folk customs, art, history, reflecting the way of thinking and values, so that it is the profound treasure house of Yi Nationality traditional culture.This study take the Cigarette Case Dancing of Yi Nationality as the research object, with an integrated method which an multimodal unique view, involving the field of anthropology, intangible cultural heritage and history, studying through field assignments research. This paper tries to vividly present the expression and aesthetic orientation of the dance and brings forward the suggestions and conceptions in the macro point of view of intangible culture hesitance.The whole paper is constituted by three parts:Introduction, three sections and conclusion. The introduction part describes the causes of selecting the subject, related research status and methods. In the first section, this paper introduces the multimode definition and its mutual logic relationship with the dance. Based on the multimodal language, the second section discuss the Cigarette Case Dance movement characteristic features extraction, with related examples for further explanation. In the last section, the changes of the dance is studied in the field of the intangible culture protection, and proposed related protection and inheritance suggestions and conceptions. The conclusion is the overall view and summary of the paper.
