The first chapter scans the theoretical background and the current studies of unreliable narration at home and abroad and introduces briefly the achievement on narrative studies of detective novels at home and abroad. This thesis focuses on the study on the application of First Person in the detective novels. In the second chapter, the third chapter, the forth chapter and the fifth chapter, this thesis analyzes the various functions of narrators who hold different functions by closing reading from the perspective of narrative perspective, narrative voice, ethical narration. To be specific, this thesis respectively analyzes the narrative of four kinds of detective novels written in First Person, namely detective novels with narrator as the assistant, narrator as the murderer, narrator as the detective and narrator as the bystander thus to explore how the narrative traps in the detective novels form and what the advantaged influence is on the readers. Hence, this thesis takes《The Murders in the Rue Morgue》《The Murder of Roger Ackroyd》、《The Adventure of the Blanched Soldier》、《The Moonstone》as texts to explore the various functions in narrative progression of narrators of different functions, then analyze how the narrative traps in the detective novels form and what is the advantaged influence of such traps on electrifying effect.
