Multi-angle Study On Frequently Used Assembly Unit Of "手"

Chinese characters is a tight system. Every single character in this system is distinctive from yet interactive with each other either in terms of configuration or recording functions, thereby forming a systematic character system at each historical section. As a basic component unit of Chinese character, the assembly units are usually products of the changes in Chinese character system which is dominated from pictographic characters to picto-phonetic characters. Therefore, the historical transformation of Chinese characters is better able to reflect. In addition, in specific role and location distribution in formation of characters, assembly units contain more often than not ontology information of Chinese characters to some extent. In other words, the properties of the assembly units are related to the nature and structure of the characters and literacy teaching, which thereby can become a good perspective for researchers to study Chinese characters.The frequently used assembly unit of "手" is an assembly unit which originates from the prototype of "hands" in daily life. Under each assembly unit, there are a varying amount of frequently used characters, thereby forming an assembly-unit-member-centered small word family and a component-family-centered big word family. Such small and big word family is guided by the assembly unit and shows some regular connection in forms and sounds. More importantly, the frequently used assembly unit of "手" and its corresponding characters are always an essential and regular subsystem in Chinese character system at each historical section. Therefore, this is a subsystem which can better reflect the characteristics and nature of Chinese characters and which is of vital research significance. Chapter2,3and4respectively studies the source relations, configuration nature and configuration location of the frequently used assembly unit of "手" on the basis of relevant knowledge on Chinese characters. Chapter5discusses the problems in teaching characters in assembly unit of "手" when teaching Chinese as a foreign language in accordance their above characteristics.
