In the1980s, the study of second language acquisition gradually aroused people’s attention in our country. These studies widened the field of vision, broaden the train of thought, provided the information for our country’s foreign language teaching, and laid the base for the development of today’s foreign language teaching. In the1990s, our country’s foreign language teaching research began to absorb and introduce such kind of research results abroad roundly. And combined with the actual situation in our country, the scholars of this stage carried out some pertinent research and paid more attention on the learners’ subjective. The research on second language acquisition (SLA) of our country, especially on the study of the undergraduate students’English autonomous learning, from theory discussion to empirical research, has been active since the late1990s.However, the author found that there are more researches on the undergraduate students’autonomous learning in our country, but the study of the vocational college students" English autonomous learning is relatively blank. On the foundation of the SLA theory, the author did the empirical study according to the characteristics of the vocational college students’English acquisition situation and replaced the subjective judgments and impressions with the objective data and facts, so as to improve the teaching method and the quality of foreign language teaching.According to the vocational college students’characteristics and environment, aiming at the vocational students’ study status in class and after class, in order to promote the English teaching effect, the writer did the research on vocational college students’autonomous learning situation, In the process of English teaching in the vocational and technical college, the author found that vocational college students’ performance in the English class has certain particularity, showing with different degrees of performance in foreign language learning attitude, learning objective, cognitive aspects and learning methods and so on. In this paper, the writer did the research on the vocational college students’English autonomous learning. By the way of combining theory and practice, mastering the vocational college students’ autonomous learning situation, and through the analysis of data, the teachers can adjust the teaching method in the future, and guide the students to achieve the purpose of promoting teaching in the autonomous learning process.The writer carries on the investigation about the present situation of vocational college students" autonomous learning with the human-oriented idea. This study is on the basis of the theory of humanistic psychology, constructivism psychology theory, social cognitive theory, and meta-cognition theory basis. The authors found that these theories emphasized the importance of people-oriented from different angles and in different degrees. By collecting data, the author emphasized that internal cause is the main factor in the development of students’record changing. The learning process is a gradual accumulation process, and the students should use learning strategies to achieve an ideal effect in the English learning process.The investigation target of this study is150sophomore students of non-English major of Changchun branch of Song Yuan vocational and technical college. The author uses the way of combining qualitative analysis which including questionnaire investigation, and quantitative analysis which including interviews. Through the analysis of data, the author has a preliminary understanding about the present situation of vocational college students’English learning. In order to strengthen the cultivation of students’autonomous learning ability in the future, the author’s investigation study carries on from the following several aspects:(1)Identifying and understanding the teacher’s teaching goals and requirements;(2)Establishing learning objectives and developing the plan of the study;(3)The using of learning strategies;(4)Monitoring the process of learning English;(5)Evaluating the result of the study.We believe that as long as we continue to explore, dare to practice, we will ultimately be able to achieve the far-reaching goals of cultivating autonomous learning habits and improving learning ability. |
