In recent years, creative oil paintings on the revolutionary, military and historicalthemes have been increasingly valued and advocated nationwide. By means of oil painting,the present graduation work “News of Victory from the Front Line” is attempted tocommemorate the war correspondents who made tremendous contribution to the revolutionduring the war of resistance and represent the specific culture and legacy and soldiers andcivilians’unique spirits during that particular period of time. In terms of theme, the workchooses the war correspondents to manifest the contribution of the ordinary people to thecountry; in terms of composition, the work adopts methods of clear-cut main charactersand the static and dynamic combination to build up the atmosphere of soldiers’ solidarityand preoccupation; in terms of color, the alternative use and contrast of cool color andwarm color is designed to emphatically show characters’ spirits, and change of the tones ofcolor is intended to predict the conviction of the oncoming victory. During the creationprocess, the costume, characters and setting are carefully analyzed and designed to vividlydemonstrate exact scenes of the war of resistance.
