The text is divided into three parts, study and exploreaffirmation of negation in "the scholars", reveal "the scholars" critical of socialreality.The first part statistic and classify the positive characters in "the scholars", listpositive characters and main plots in the works. Then according to the characters, itcan be divided into five categories: the literati of despising wealth, the samurai ofambition of achievements, officials of means dilute, the underlying people of the plainkindness, and the people out of the ordinary. According to the characteristics of fivekinds of characters, to explore and reveal Wu jingzi’s thought standards-theknowledge of Confucius thought.The second part specifically analysis negative factors from the affirmation in "thescholars". First, defining the meaning of affirmation and negation, in short, namelyaccording to preference by the authors for sure life, then they will face frustratingreality in real life. Second, analysis the performance of negative factors from theaffirmation, namely the hardship of positive character, performance for four types:escape, being jealous, failures and detachment.The third part research ideological implication from affirmation of the negationin "the scholars". Mainly discussing from two points: First, reveals the author’s criticalof social reality, including criticizing the imperial examination system, the bad socialethos, the darkness of officialdom. Second, reveal that the author only reluctantly tosing a song of latter-day elegy.
