With the development of economy and technology of the network over the last decades,shopping online, as a new type of consumption, has been accepted by more and morepeople. It is making a difference to the traditional ways of shopping. The rise of shoppingonline has spawned lots of web stores. As a marketing tool, the names of the web storesattract the consumers firstly in addition to the goods in the web stores and the quality of theservice. The study on names of web stores has an important influence on a correctunderstanding of it.On the basic of the previous study on names of the traditional stores,thispaper analyses the features of language, the factors of context and the principles ofpragmatics. I hope that this paper can enrich the study of this field and play a part in namesof the new web stores and regulate the language.As an introduction, the first part involves the objects and the significance of the studyand analyses the sakes of the name of this paper, the research status of the names of the webstores and introduces the sources of corpus and the methods of research.The second part studies the linguistic features of the names of web stores and comparesthe names of web stores with them of the traditional stores. It reveals the characteristics ofthe names of web stores from the voice, structures and vocabulary of the names of webstores.The third part analyses the contextual factors of the names of web stores. We divide thecontext into subjective context and objective context. The subjective contextual factorsconsider from the nomenclators and consumers and the objective contextual factorsconsider from the cultural factors, network languages and operational projects.The fourth part analyses the existing problems of the names of web stores andconsiders how to regulate the names of web stores from the angels of language and society.The fifth part is the conclusion.
