Filial piety as the traditional virtues of ourChinese, is an important part of Chinesetraditional culture.isConfucian filial piety is the basis and core content of Chinesetraditional filial piety ethics. Chinese traditional filial piety ethics was established inConfucius, and developed by Mencius, Xunzi and so on, which let Chinese people paymore attention to the fine tradition of filial piety ethics, and played an important role inthe history of thousands years.Basing on the theory of“respectancestry” in the Western Zhou Dynasty, Confuciusdid some creative inheritance and transformation to build “benevolence” as the theorybasis, based on reality “individual family” of the family ethics of filial piety, presentsthe cultural characteristics of “love”. On the basis of Confucius “benevolence”, Menciusfurther put forward the theory of “goodness”. Both Confucius and Mencius’s filial pietyis related to society of historical trend that “individual family” become the basicunit,Which paid attention to the effect of “qinqinfilial piety” in the individual family,and on this basis, furthered it to “filial piety to loyal” and “filial piety to the social”.Its direction is mainly to improve individual ethics to abide social ethicsconsciously,focusing on the enlightening inner consciousness. All of them advocated to rise socialethics from individual ethics.Taking “evil” as the theory of human nature, Xunzi advocated “long li” and“congyi”to“huaxing qi wei”. Xunzi thought that “Treating others politelyis filialpiety”. He not only lay emphasison“ritual”, the external ethics guidance, regulation of“filial piety”, but also paid attention to personal inner true feelings (“yi “) value in theprocess of practicing filial piety. It is visible that the concept of Xunzi——“etiquette offilial piety”covers both inside and outside two aspects. He regarded“etiquetteandrighteous”as the center, try to internalizethe external ethics to objectiveself-consciousness, from social ethics to personal ethics, focusing on imitating theenlightenment. In addition, on the base of feudal unification in the political situation,Xunzi advocated “obey to ethics not the king”,“obey torighteous not father”,“theking’s grace is greater than the father”, putting social norms above family norms, it isthe avoidance of contradictions in“filial piety cannot be satisfactory to theloyalty”. Atthe same time, this also opened up a new path for the realization of the filial pietyheteronomy. Xunzi’s Filial piety ethics emphasizes the importance of external “rites” tomaintain and inherit filial piety, which provided the theoretical basis for rule of virtue,and leave space for the rule of law. The filial piety ethics of Xunzi reflected the feudalera characteristics of unification,and provided a theoretical basis for the establishmentof the feudal hierarchy.Therefore, at the same time Xunzi enriched Confucius and Mencius’ filial piety ethics by putting forward different theory basisof human nature,ways support elders,answers to the question——“conflicts between loyalty and filial piety ethics”and soon;At the same time, besides emphasize the effects of external norms, Xunzi alsoadvocated moral self-discipline leave space for the rule of law, which broke through thebasic framework of Confucius filial piety ethics and let it achieve new development.
