| Messiaen is a famous musician of French in twentieth Century, he is the most influential composerafter the Second World War. His unique style of music is completely independent from any music group.His music has a unique color,it’s considered as the beginning of modern French music. Complex rhythmiclanguage, personalized harmony, melody techniques and the various modes of composition are the featuresof Messiaen’s musical language. He claimed that he is a rhythm master, his innovative techniques ofrhythm plays an important role in his music. Messiaen has opened a free field of musical creation andmakes a far-reaching influence on later musicians.In this paper, the source and development of Messiaen’s rhythm material was discussed, and with hispiano works, to analyze the development of Messiaen’s Rhythm Techniques. |
