Wang Yangming’s concept of knowing and doing, including its philosophicalsystem and "knowing" the theory of everything, whose core proposition is "the unityof knowledge and action", the basic content is available from ontology, methodology,ethics three aspects to be understood.In Wang Yangming’s opinion, the unity ofknowledge and action is not only the relationship between the theory of knowledgeand the theory of practice, what’s more important is the unity of knowing and doing is"direct expression of sage".The most direct theoretical source of the formation ofWang Yangming’s view on knowledge and practice, which adopts and compromisesthe views of many people, is from Er Cheng, Zhu Xi, Lu Jiuyuan and so on,From thephilosophy of Wang Yangming, the unity of knowing and doing represents an idealpersonality of Confucianism. However, this ideal state is embodied in everydaylife.This offers the average person the possibility to achieve the unity of knowing anddoing.For Wang Yangming, proposing the unity of knowledge and practice, of courseis not enough, there must be a practical method to reach this state, can only beconvincing.In this regard, Wang listed the "determined" and "Conscience" and severalpractical ways to be sure of the unity of knowledge and doing.Wang Yangming’s viewof knowledge and practice also plays an important part in the Song and MingDynasties. And knowledge and practice is also an important category in the study ofphilosophy.Wang Yangming’s interpretation of the unity of knowledge and actionshows the brilliant characteristics of the times of Confucianism, Meanwhile, itprovides very important referential significance for us to improve our moral realm.
