Recently, the research on physical problems are mostly concerned about exterior representation, metacognition and most materials used for those research are highly abstract textbook praxis far away fromthe real life experience. At practice, due to the influences of practice and mindset effect, these texts cannottruly reflect the ability discrepancy of the participants trying to solve problems. Hence, combined with theeye movement technique and the measurement of cognitive fatigue, this research will use physicalinformation praxis as the experimental material to investigate the effect of FDI cognitive style on the illstructured problem solving and the eye movement style embedded in the interest fields. To begin with, we selected96participants who ranked as the middle level of physical test scoresin recently exams from210students’ sample pool attached to a high school in Henan province. Then, wehanded out the questionnaire of embedded figure test to those96participants and tested their scores on thistest. Finally, we selected42participants including21field independent students and21field dependentstudents as the qualified participants to take our normal experiment. The first study was mainly concernedabout how FDI cognitive style influenced participants’ performance on solving different types of physicalproblems、cognitive fatigue after test and eye movement characteristics. The second study was mainlyfocused on how FDI cognitive style influenced the participants’ performance on solving physical problemscharacterized as disparate difficult levels、cognitive fatigue after test and eye movement characteristics. The final results are as follows:First, when the test is in medium difficulty, the FD groups have more fixation times and durationon the area of interests than the FI groups. Second, when the test is in high difficulty, the FI groups have more first fixation duration, butless fixation times、regressive times、fixation duration and pupil sizes on the area of interests than FDgroups.Third, the scores of Field independent group in ill structured problems are higher than that ofField dependent group, while the pupil size of the Fied independent group are lower than that of Fielddependent group.Fourth, the cognitive fatigue of participants in High difficult poblems is higher than that of lowdifficult problems.Fifth, after finishing the high difficult ill-structured physical problems, FD groups tend to havehigher cognitive fatigue than the FI groups.Sixth, when the difficult level is in medium, the group of high cognitive fatigue tends to havemore fixtion time on the AOI than that of low cognitive fatigue.Seventh, whent the difficult level is high, the group of high cognitive fatigue tends to have moreregressive counts and pupil size, while lower first time fixion than that of low cognitive fatigue.
